More news

The other bit of news is that the sampler packs will be changing. I won’t offer the five week course, but just send the whole kit at once. It is easier this way I think and people seem to prefer it that way.

The changes on the site will be coming later this week or early next week.

Moving news

I have made quite the decision and Thimble and Thistle will come along with me. I will be moving to Scotland in early April. Huge decision, but so fabulous. I have so many ideas for where I am going to take the site and the products of Thimble and Thistle.

The whole premise behind Thimble and Thistle was kits and patterns inspired by historical pieces and what better way to do this than to move and be in the middle of the inspiration.

What does this mean for the website? Honestly, not much. The address will be different. The kits will be the same price, albeit in pounds sterling, but I will do the translations. I will also just be sending them from the UK rather than Canada.

I will let you all know when I will be out of business – should only be for a couple of weeks as I close down and move.

Updating

It has been awhile since I updated and I have been very busy with many things. I will have a new kit up soon. It is a needlepoint one using several different stitches. I am also working on blackwork and whitework needlecases.

I recently found a computer program to help me chart things so I am learning that as well. What fun it is to learn it.

I also took a short hiatus and learned knitting and made a pair of socks. They are so comfortable!!! And colourful in shades of red, blue, yellow, cream and green. I will attempt to get some photos up soon.

New one coming

I am almost finished my next kit. It won’t be a sampler kit, but rather a regular needlepoint kit that will be part of a series. I am enjoying designing it very much! I hope to get it up very soon. You will be the first to know!

This would be the kit that I was woken up for one morning. Sheesh.

Hard to Accept

This is a very silly thing to have to accept, but I am finding it hard to be okay with buying all these materials for my business. Before I had always felt bad about spending money on needlework stuff – many of you know how that feels. Now it is legitimate and it is a very bizarre thing. It’s actually okay to buy all of this to work on. I think for me this is heaven.

Thimble and Thistle features historical methods of needlework, and embroidery projects inspired by historical textiles.

We create kits and patterns utilizing many different styles of the needlearts: embroidery, crewel, needlepoint, bargello, blackwork, hardanger and many others.

Look for our sampler packs – an opportunity to learn different styles of needleart. Go take a look.
